Week 1 of Internship

[Blog as written by Nelson Tjiunardi (Indonesia)]

Woohoo… it’s Saturday…. and that means, it’s been a week already into the Internship… how time flies when one is having fun…! After a week of cramming some serious stuff into our head… we get to do some fun activities and outing!

Before we talk about all the fun stuffs, let’s review what’s been going on in the first week… All week long, we've been doing an exercise called The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). MBTI is a tool or framework for understanding our own Personality Type and that of others.  After being loaded with an effort to “Find the Star-Personality Within”, we each learn how to identify preferences rather than competencies, abilities or skills. To help you get a clearer picture, here’s how the MBTI preferences look like (try to see if your personality matches one of the movie-stars' below):

You see what I mean, each of us no matter what type of personality that we belong to have the potential to be a great person someday.

So, you might ask… what does all this string of mumbo-jumbo has anything to do with you?

Here’s the simple take-home message, finding out your MBTI results will enable you to do the following:
Helps you identify your unique gifts
          Helps you understand yourself
Ø  Motivations
Ø  Natural strengths
Ø  Potential areas for growth
Helps you understand and appreciate people who differ from you

I am sure you’re dying to know my MBTI result…Alright; this is me è ENFP, the Inspirer…! According to Mr. Rob, the instructor, this might just be the most perfect combination ever…  Guys, if your personality happens not to be of the perfect type…  I do feel sorry for you; The sky is still blue…don’t be too sad about it. (just kidding! Peace… ^_^)

And of course, not to forget we also did some Strength-Discovery Training too..

In a nutshell, do not underestimate your own strength. We all have it in us, make the effort to grow the most in the area of your greatest strength. it It is a myth that you will grow the most in the areas of your greatest weakness…
“You will be the most inquisitive, more resilient, most creative, and most open to learning in your area of strength. “

Remember…. With great power….

To wrap up the week, the Intern team refreshes their mind with EE’s two famous questions:

There are so many questions out there in the world we’re living in, but out of all important questions in life, ultimately there are only two most important questions you need to know the right answers to. Are you ready…? Here they are:
1. Have you come to a place in your spiritual life where you know for certain that if you were to die today you would go to heaven?
2. Suppose that you were to die today and stand before God and He were to say to you, Why should I let you into my heaven?” What would you say?

My friend… if you do not have the right and sure answer to the above two questions, you need to talk to one of us and we will tell you the Greatest Story Ever Told through the  following 5 beautiful illustrations…

After much passionate discussions by each of the Interns in various languages (although the Gospel message remains the same) …

.
.

Here’s the conclusion of the matter….My friend… you would only have the right saving faith when you let go of the drift wood that  you've been holding on to all these while and hold onto the hand of the Master (Jesus Christ) to receive eternal life…

In the evening, we had a good time around the bonfire and some fireworks to celebrate the successful completion of our first week of internship. It was a fun night for everybody and surely a night to be remembered for a long time to come.

"May the fire and the passion to reach out for the lost keep on burning in our heart always till the day we breathe our last breath on earth…"

That’s all for now folks…
