Today (Friday, August 23, 2013) is my (Sisca, from Indonesia) turn to blogging..

At 9 o’clock we left  the University to go to Blimbing Sari. It is a Christian Village with one church where Pastor Yogi (one of the EE Asian Internship participant) and his housewife has been pastoring for the past years in Bali.

On our way, we stopped at Alas Kedaton. This is a place where monkeys and big bat species (in Indonesia, we called it “Kalong”) are being housed and protected.

Finally, we arrived at Blimbing Sari. The village is very peaceful. Houses and roads are surrounded by trees and flowers. It is so beautiful ^_^

It was a privilege for me to visit Widya Asih II. It is a Christian orphanage at the center of the village. Truly, it was a great opportunity to minister to Christians and Non-Christian kids in the orphanage.

The kids were so excited to see new faces. They immediately approached and hugged us.

We also shared the Gospel to the children by using the Flash Cards (EE KIDS). We performed drama in front of the kids (the General Shamila and Mr. Blondin story).  We did the dramas in a comical way to catch the kids’ attention. By God’s grace, it went well and the children appreciated it.

There were some volunteers from Japan.  Most of them are at the same age as Miyuki and Takuma (21).

We also visited some local families and minister to them. We ended the night by praying for all the Japanese volunteers.  We prayed for Takuma, Miyuki, Shohei, Nelson and Langdon as they will share the gospel to the Japanese volunteers tomorrow. May God bless them so they can receive Jesus as their savior.

I always think why it is so easy for the kids to hold my hand. One kid (around 7 years old) pulled me out of the crowd to ask me a secret question. The kid whispered to me “Do you want to be my sister?” I was shocked, and I didn’t know how to answer the question. I kept thinking, does he want me to adopt him and bring him to my home? Does he want to leave the orphanage? Or does he want me to be just his spiritual sister? Honestly, I don’t know the answer but I know one thing. He is hungry for LOVE. Love of a sister, love of a brother and love of a family. I may not be able to adopt him, or bring him with me when I return to Malang, but maybe I can share something with him. Maybe, I can share to him how I experience the unfailing love of Jesus Christ. The love that never fails. The love that they really need.

haaaaaaaa ^_^,, I love everything that God have done through us here.. May Holy Spirit teach and lead us more to know for sure God's calling to us and let His name glorified through our life day by day.. Amin *_*

Second Day in Blimbing Sari - Bamboo Planting Day

Theme of the day: Bamboo~

Everyone was excited before we departed to the river side for bamboo planting

In the wonderful Saturday morning in Blimbing Sari, Bali.  We all did a meaningful job – Planting Bamboo in the riverside.  

The reason of planting the bamboo is to prevent soil erosion.  Everyone of us had a young bamboo plant, and there were holes which are meant for planting the bamboo beside the river.  Certain holes were near to the river, and certain holes were positioned in the upper part of the hill.  

After planting the bamboo, we prayed together that bamboo will grow strongly and hold the soil firmly.

Those bamboos that we have planted are meant to hold the soil together from falling apart. Somehow, I felt that Christians are just like those bamboos.  We have been put into different position, some of us are serving full time, and some of us are working in secular world.  But, our aim is the same! We are meant to bring people to Christ. Preventing people from falling just like the bamboo preventing the soil from falling down into the river.   In my mind, I was thinking that bamboo must grow to be stronger in order to hold more soil, and same do I! 

Then, I prayed: "Lord, teach me how to grow stronger in You.  I need to grow deeper, Lord! Teach me, open my eyes, ears, and heart to know Your plan in my life so that I can keep growing, Amen!"

When the day came to afternoon, I was impressed by a kid who volunteered to sing a song on stage. He sang a Bahasa Indonesia song ‘Ikut Tuhan’ which means Fellowing God (Jesus).  The song lyric was: I want to fellow Jesus, not because of parents, siblings, presents, or I am being force to follow Jesus; BUT because I LOVE Him.

This young boy sang Ikut Tuhan during the kids E.E. party in the church named GKPB Jemaat PNIEL. 

After listening to this song, once again I reflected my life. As a pastor kid, there's always expectations on me. People think that, as a child of pastor, surely you can do this and that, know this and that, etc.... I grew up in this environment. So, I always have the tendency to be super sensitive on what others think of me. From the lyrics, I asked myself again, what is the reason of following Christ. Is it because of others? I prayed asking God to examine my heart. I was thankful for God reminded me again that I should fix my eyes only to Him, not to others. 

Then, there's a thought popped in my mind, To grow in Christ is to grow together with LOVE. Love is the essence. Wow, how amazing is our God! He spoke to me through a song that sang by a little boy. My heart is full love, the love of God.

We were helping to distribute the buns, strawberry wafers and peanut wafers to the kids. At night, we had fellowship with the adult crusade in the church. After listening to the testimony of Paik Shing, the bamboo thought that I had in the morning changed slightly.

I realized that there's interrelation between the bamboo and soil. In the morning, I only emphasized the mission of bamboo, which is to hold the soil, preventing soil erosion. But I neglected the role of the soil. Bamboo needs soil to grow as well!  Just like Christian, growing in Christ is also through bringing people to Christ. When we are nurturing people with the word of God, we are also being nurtured as well.  It's not what I was thinking that I have to grow stronger in Christ first, then only I can serve God better.  It's always a progress, growing while serving.  Above all, it is all about the Love and Grace of God!

Last day of Clinic!!

Hi all, it's me again.... Guess who??

Today is the last day of our Clinic!! Yay!! No...... last day means there is a "review" Examination on the things that we've learn from the pass few days!!!


This is the "Memory Points" that we need to memorized. Hard for me as english is not my 1st language, but after few days of practice, things went on smoothly except the bible verse that I kept forgetting, (Please forgive me my Lord).

Most of us is very intense about the review, but some just did it like a piece of cake... This "review" is really helps me a lot as now I know which part I always forget.. Hmm Maybe I should do it in Bahasa Indon next time.

The lesson we learn today is about "Giving Birth".. LIVE!!!  Baby Sponge Bob was born in front of us.

When someone decided to accept Christ through our sharing, it's like giving birth to a baby. You don't just throw it aside and leave it alone. Sometimes we are so busy sharing the Gospel and we forget to take care of those who are "born" by us. If we're not taking care of the baby, we need to make sure that someone will!! It is very important to follow up on the status of our "baby" so that they will grow healthily!!

After that we went to do OJT at Kuta Beach!! Today my partner is Nelson and Cecilia!! 1st we decide to find our "fish" at the food court inside Beach Walk Mall, not sure about the name. It started smoothly but, we  never finished sharing as the person went to work middle of our sharing. Look what we've found!! The hidden meaning of EE!!

Then we decided to go foot massage and share the gospel to the massage therapist. So we went to find a massage shop, and we found one which untill now we still can't understand why we ended up in that shop!! Nelson describe the shop as Massage ++ shop, don't ask me to explain about the "++" thing, you should know it!! And we never do anything except foot massage! This is the last place I could imagine sharing the gospel at!! God's arrangement is so "creative".  With the combination of Holy Spirit and Nelson's "powerful sharing", 3 of them accepted Christ in the end. It is a craziest and wonderful experience for me. 

Actually we could have just left the shop as soon as we step inside, but we're reminded that everyone needs the gospel. The moment we decide to stay, we see how God lead us through the whole sharing. Praise to the Lord!!

It's So Good to Share the Gospel !!!

     Sharing the Gospel - We are all called to be a witness all the time to share this good news (Matt 28). As a believer of Christ, this is what I always wanted to do. However, I was always hesitating and making excuses not to share, like, ”this is not the right time to share...", "if I would not share well they would not accept Christ...", and so on... So far I have shared gospel with my close friends, but haven't shared so much with people I don't know well.


     But in this internship, we have something called OJT (On the Job Training), which I actually have to share the gospel!!

     Sometime, we invite people, sometime we go out on a street and try to fine a right person to talk. Even though I was little hesitate to do it at the first point, I love OJT now! I've noticed that people here in Bali, are very open and willing to hear the gospel. They listen to the story with very curious eyes, have good response and ask many questions about how they can get eternal life. So far I haven't rejected. Moreover, I've found that there is nothing more fun than sharing the gospel!

     Today, we had some local high school students coming, had chance to talk and share the gospel. In my group, we had two boys and one girl. We found that they were all Christians, but they were not sure that they can go to heaven or not. (the girl already had shared the gospel by our members yesterday) They notice their sins and are struggling with it. I am so glad that we had this opportunity to share His good news with them. In the end, they truly understood that they don't need (and can't) enter heaven by their good deed, but trusting only in Jesus.

     In these (almost) three weeks in Indonesia, I got a feeling that many Christians here actually trusting in Jesus but also in their good deeds, such as prayer, serving at church, going church every Sundays, etc... Just as I did not understand His grace for over 6 years in church. They really need to hear that for Jesus took all of our sin and we just can trust in Him!!!

    In this afternoon, God gave us even more blessings. After the clinic today, we had free time, mostly for resting. We have some people tired and sick a little (Please pray for us!) so it was very nice to have time like that.



    However, you know what I did? I'm a young (?) boy, and can not just staying in a bed in sunny day like this. It's time to play BASKETBALL!!!

    Sadly, other guys did not come to play XD  but some girls joined. We saw four local boys also playing basketball, so we offered them to play together.

     After we enjoyed good exercise for good one hour (Pshing was the one who were not playing basketball but wrestling), it was the time to have conversation in the corner of the basketball coat. Thank God that because we played basketball together, good friendship has already built and it was very smooth to ask them more spiritual questions.

     I talked to two teen boys. One had Hindu and another had Muslim background. However, they were very interested to hear the Gospel. Their eyes were twinkling and they were responding very well to each ideas that we shared. In the end, they said clearly that they want to accept Jesus as only one Savior and God. Praise God!!! This was actually my first time to lead non-Christian people to accept Jesus!!!! I was super duper excited!!!

     Their spiritual life with Jesus have just begun. Since they have Hindu and Muslim family, I think it it very hard for them to keep faith. We will continue to pray for them and thank God that we found out later that the other one of four was actually Christian so that he can continue encouraging his friends.

     Thank you God for showing us your grace again. It is super wonderful to see someone come to Christ. Thanks to Digeng who translated everything and took part of explaining what faith is and lead them to prayer, Pishing and JitAi who started conversation with them, and last but not least Miyuki who was praying for them and us through entire time we were sharing the Gospel. It was all God's servant teamwork. It was very beautiful!

     Actually, there were many students who accepted Jesus as Savior nevertheless they were Hindu or Muslim in OJT time. I was very surprised hear all the reports back like that. But it is very important to them to be rooted. We prayed for each one of them by name that they will keep knowing Jesus more and more so that they can be the light for their family and friends.

     It was an amazing day to experience how powerful God is. He can even change Hindu girl and Muslim boy! Day by day, I experience His grace and joy of sharing the Gospel, and notice this is not my own knowledge or strength, but the work of the Holy Spirit.

     Now, I'm so excited to share the Gospel with others! Can't wait to see what is going to happen tomorrow!!!

     I'm still praying and searching for my specific calling from God, but for sure, wherever I go, and whatever I do, I will be His witness all the time!!

     This is the verse that Lord has given to me in this internship. (There are actually so many!!)

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5,6)

Hello.. :) My name is Kheni.I come from Semarang city in Central Java Indonesia.So,today is my time for share. ;)

This is what happened today :

Our morning devotion has led by mom Inggrid.

They are who teaching in our class today : Langdon,Digeng,Nelson and Rossane.

After class,we have OJT again.Our prospect is student's from high school.

Today they all have received the free gift of eternal life.And it's all because of His grace.That God taking us to share this good news to them.We are very grateful about that.

And then we have time for refreshing today.
We go to Erlangga 2.
We can buy a souvenir from bali there.
And of course it was exciting! :D

Free to share The Gospel

Hi, I am Yogi. I am come from Bali Indonesia.

I want to share our experience today.

This is  the second day of the  Indonesian Independence day. So for Indonesian people like me, it still feels like Independence Day.  If we have been redeemed in Christ, we have freedom in Christ everyday!

Somebody may say that freedom is all about the permission to do. Others say that freedom means living in righteousness. May I propose that the real freedom means that we are doing all the right things in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Today is our first day of EE clinic at Universitas Dhyana Pura. As the representative of Balinese Church, pastor Made Budiarsa gave us a sermon taken from Gospel of John 15:16. 4 principles to be learnt from there :

1.       Multiplication is not just a number of The Church attendance, but most importantly are about discipleship in Christ Jesus.

2.       We must bring the words of GOD and be the bearer of the Good News

3.       What we have in Evangelism Explosion method is the golden bridge to reach out to the people.

4.       We are to be ready at all times to be sent out to share the good News.

After that we start the clinic with 5 women from Indonesia as a participant of EE. They are: Linda, Laura, Vicka, Rai and Wati. The 6 points were Grace, sin, God, Christ, Faith and Commitment. Learning was made simple through the gospel hand illustration and dramas. We had an enjoyable day of learning.

At 4 pm we went to Seminyak Square to share the gospel and praise The Lord so many people heard of the Good News although not all of them receive Jesus as Savior and Lord.

After that we went to Kerobokan to have a dinner at Rev Kt Arka’s family’s residence.

Reflection:

Galatian 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

As Christians who already possess eternal life, God already set us free from sin and we are free to do just about anything to glorify HIS name.  We give thanks and praise to The Lord our God for the opportunity to have a clinic to equip others to share a good news and also opportunity to find somebody to share the gospel. The devil does not like very much a Christian who has the freedom in Christ to do His will, therefore we must stay alert not to fall into a lifestyle of sin.

Finally, we believe that there are brothers and sisters out there who are praying for us. I hope that from now onwards, we will join our hands and hearts to pray together for each other so that many people will set them free from evil and sin. Amen.
